Celebrate the beginning of fall with an easier trip near the bottom of the watershed. We will start at Morgan’s Bridge, a popular hangout for those who love the river. The river will swell and shrink as we work our way downstream, finally ending at the Savannah/Ogeechee Canal, a historic park that connects the two rivers. Connie Shreve, the manager of Ogeechee Outpost and the S/O Canal will be on hand to give us a history lesson on the Canal and its importance to the local economy around the turn of the century.
Ogeechee Outpost will be our outfitter on this trip, renting kayaks for $30 and canoes for $40 per vessel.
We will be putting in at Morgan's Bridge Boat Ramp. For more information about Morgan's Bridge, including driving directions, click here: https://paddling.com/paddle/locations/morgans-bridge-landing/?lat=32.0797&lng=-81.3856&zoom=14
River levels are low in the upper portions of this paddle. Be prepared to exit your boat to portage through shallow areas or over logs.
