Become an ORK member today and get exclusive perks all year long!

There are so many great reasons to be a member of Ogeechee Riverkeeper. Your support directly helps our organization do the important work of keeping our waterways clean. Our staff and volunteers are on the ground:

  • Participating in regional coalitions on sustainable development
  • Conducting scientific sampling and testing programs
  • Guiding municipal entities in ordinance updates
  • Providing outreach opportunities in the community
  • Working on legislative priorities
  • Promoting the importance of healthy nature in everyday life

Members also enjoy exclusive perks, like access to special events and workshops.

Most importantly, membership means you are part of coalition in support of clean water. ORK is able to include you among our numbers when we apply for grants, speak to legislators, or appear before a judge. Having a strong team behind us shows that our constituents back our work.

Meet ORK's practicum student

Christian is an old-school adventurer living in the modern world. He is currently a senior at Georgia Southern University studying recreation and tourism management with an outdoor emphasis, and has multiple seasons of trip-leading and guiding experience.

Nature yoga

Take a “tour” of the Ogeechee River Basin through yoga poses with ORK’s Mel Sparrow. This members-only event on February 4 will be a one-hour practice followed by an optional lunch. Yoga practice is beginner-friendly and all props are provided.

Nature photography workshop

ORK and Parker Stewart will host a members-only nature photography workshop on February 11. This low country landscape photography workshop will focus on how to best capture the water, light, flora and fauna of the lower Ogeechee River and ways everyone can use photography as a tool to tell a story about a place and its beauty.

Birding and birders survey

Help member groups of the Georgia Coast Collaborative better understand key issues affecting birdwatchers' interests and local coastal communities by completing this survey. Your input is so valuable to GCC's efforts.

Walking in the winter woods

Using a guidebook or a citizen science app, walk through a patch of woods, and really take in all the smells, sights and sounds of the woods in the winter season.

Adopt-A-Stream training

ORK will host an Adopt-a-Stream training for chemical and bacterial monitoring at the Mary Kahrs Warnell Forest Education Center in Guyton on February 11. Free; pre-registration is required.

Corporate sponsorships

Do you have a business that cares about clean water? ORK offers year-long sponsorships and various levels, and with different perks. You might even get your logo on a beautiful flag that gets displayed at our events. Find out more about how we can partner!

Meet ORK's 2023 fellow

She will be performing standard water quality tests, chemical, and bacterial monitoring at these sites following the Georgia Adopt-A-Stream protocols.
