Limited Edition Prints

ORK has teamed up with local artist Juliana Smith to create a custom artwork featuring the plants and wildlife in the Ogeechee River watershed. Juliana designed the piece, carved the linocut by hand, and pulled a limited number of prints.

Juliana is a local artist dedicated to spreading knowledge about the organisms we share our home with and encouraging outdoor exploration. She is a naturalist for an environmental education non-profit in the South Carolina Lowcountry where she shares experiences and information about our native flora and fauna with others. Though she is particularly drawn to birds, bugs, and wildflowers, she finds fascination in all wild things and spends endless hours observing, studying, and illustrating them.

There are only 100 11" x 14" prints -- each is signed and numbered by the artist. ORK is pleased to offer a print as a gift for a new donation of $500 or more.

Oyster Roast

Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s annual oyster roast is back this fall! We’ll have all-you-can-eat freshly steamed oysters, plus delicious barbecue and sides. Most importantly, it supports the crucial work of ORK. Mark your calendar.

ORK contributes to scientific paper

Damon Mullis and Checo Colon-Gaud, Ph.D., published their findings on various methods for collecting macroinvertebrates. The findings of this article were first published in the Journal for Freshwater Ecology. The article was edited and repurposed for young readers and their educators, and was published by Frontiers for Young Minds.

In the news

Keep track of ORK in the news! Not only do we share the coverage of our work and events, we also act as experts for journalists seeking to understand water quality issues in our basin.

There are many ways you can help the Ogeechee Riverkeeper protect, preserve and improve the waterways within our basin.
