Join ORK and the Fort Stewart Fish and Wildlife Branch on Saturday, December 2 for a paddle.
This is a lower watershed paddle between Landings 26-1B on the Canoochee River. This is a 6.1 mile trip / ~ 4 hour paddle, with a lunch break about half way. This intermediate level paddle is not advisable for novice paddlers. Participants *must* provide their own gear and vessels. Personal flotation devices are required. There are no outfitters available to rent gear or vessels.
There is no cost to attend but participants should bring their own lunch and water. Pre-registration is required. Anyone who arrives without pre-registering will not be able to participate.

Blackwater Barons
ORK has teamed up with local artist Juliana Smith to create a custom artwork entitled “Blackwater Barons” featuring the plants and wildlife in the Ogeechee River watershed. Juliana designed the piece, carved the linocut by hand, and pulled a limited number of prints. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Oyster Roast this year. It was a chilly night but it was great to see everyone out supporting clean water. Check out these images from Liv Nelson Photography.
Responsible wrapping
Get creative with alternative wrapping. Use newspapers, paper bags, or fabrics. Make bows from bits of ribbon, strips of unused fabric, or even shoelaces! Find embellishments like sprigs or pinecones to tie on.
As part of Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s mission to protect, preserve, and improve the water quality in our basin, ORK makes official comments. Recent comments:
